CIP opens United States office based in New York City

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) is pleased to announce the establishment of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners Inc’s office in New York City, for which a well attended opening reception was held on the evening of Tuesday September 4, 2018. CIP welcomed its guests alongside Copenhagen based advisory firm, FIH Partners (“FIH”), as well as Bech-Bruun, a leading Danish law firm, who have also established their Americas presences jointly with CIP in New York City.

Managing Partner of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, Jakob Baruël Poulsen, said “While CIP has already had a presence  on the ground with several existing energy projects and project offices in the US for some time, it is with great pride we now open our New York office, which will be staffed by a strong and experienced investment team of energy infrastructure specialists, including  both CIP veterans and newly hired US citizens, including William Demas, the local team head. CIP sees a great potential in the US energy infrastructure market, and with an investment pipeline of more than 4 GW, CIP expects to continue to commit capital to several new projects over the coming years.”

The office opening represents another significant milestone for CIP, which, through its four managed funds, has established an investment portfolio and pipeline of over four gigawatts in the United States and Canada, consisting of energy infrastructure projects including onshore wind, offshore wind and solar. This announcement follows CIP’s recent successes in the US – most notably, the start of construction on the Misae and Sage solar projects (which total 400 MW in aggregate and are the first of CIP’s solar projects to achieve such milestone), Vineyard Wind’s award of an 800 MW tender in Massachusetts for an offshore wind project (the first large scale offshore wind tender in the US) and the successful financing of the Blue Cloud wind project, which will bring CIP’s operating US onshore wind fleet to 500 MW when it begins commercial operations later this year.
