Our History

CIP was established in 2012 by senior executives from the Danish energy industry in a joint initiative with founding investor, PensionDanmark, the largest labour market pension company in Denmark and one of the first direct institutional investors in offshore wind projects globally.

Based on the proven track record of the team combined with Denmark’s leading global position within renewable energy (especially wind) and favorable market conditions let to the establishment of CIP. The purpose was to create a new and unique long-term investment product with an attractive risk-return profile and stable annual cash flows providing institutional investors access to utility-scale energy infrastructure projects requiring industrial skills and networks to originate, structure and manage.
