Onshore wind, Europe

A 273 MW onshore wind portfolio in the UK through a joint venture with Falck

Copenhagen Infrastructure I has invested GBP ~155m of equity for a 49% stake in Falck Renewables S.p.A.’s (Falck) operational onshore wind portfolio in Scotland and Wales.

The portfolio has a total capacity of 273 MW, which supplies approximately 160,000 households with renewable electricity annually (total project).

The projects were developed and constructed by Falck and are based on a diversified range of turbine technologies including Enercon, General Electric and Nordex. The daily operations are outsourced to the respective turbine technology providers and Falck carries out asset management services on behalf of Copenhagen Infrastructure I.

The Borea project is a great example of our hands-on experience, where CIP, together with its partners, has achieved several commercial optimizations including re-negotiation of an O&M agreement, two re-financings and negotiation of new PPAs on several of the onshore wind farms in the Borea portfolio.
